ビカクシダ の お手入れ 方法 -HOW TO CARE PLATYCERIUM
― 板付け ―
ビカクシダ は元々樹木に着生して育つ植物なので、木の板やコルク樹皮などの着生材に着生させて壁掛けで育てるのに適しています。
板付けする際は、着生材と株の間に水苔やココナツチップなどを盛って形を作ってあげると、根が張りやすくきれいな形になります。
-Mounting on board-
Platycerium originally grows epiphytically on trees, so it is suitable to grow it hanging on a wall attached on wooden boards or cork bark.
When attaching to a board, add sphagnum moss or coconut chips between the board and the plant to create a shape that will make it easier for the roots to spread and create a beautiful shape.
― 苔増し ―
ある程度株が成長してくると、着生材に対して株が大きくなりすぎたり、根が詰まってきたりするので、より大きな着生材に植え替えてあげた方がよいです。
その際は、一度古い着生材から剥がして、詰まりすぎた根を少しほぐしてから、水苔とココナツチップの層を大きくして、より大きな着生材に固定します。
固定に使うヒモは何でも大丈夫ですが、見た目にきれいで丈夫なのは釣り用テグスなどの透明の糸です。
-Replanting-
Once the plant has grown to a certain extent, it may become too large for the board, or the roots may become clogged, so it is better to replant it to a larger board.
At that time, remove it from the old board and loosen the clogged roots a little, then add a larger layer of sphagnum moss and coconut chips and fix it to the larger board.You can use any string to fix it to the board, but the most beautiful and durable one is a transparent thread such as a fishing rod.
― 株分け ―
大抵の品種は、大きくなると横から子株を出して増えます。
子株がある程度大きくなったら、なるべく根もたくさん取れるように大きめに水苔ごと切り取って、新しい着生材に板付けして株分けをします。
元の株である親株は、子株を切り取って空いた穴に水苔を詰めるか、形を整えて板付けし直してあげるとよいでしょう。
-Separating pups-
Most platycerium varieties grow by producing pup plants from the sides.
When the pups grow to a certain size, cut them out together with the sphagnum moss into large pieces so that as many roots as possible can be taken out, and divide the plants by attaching them to new boards.
For the original mother plant, fill the holes of pups with sphagnum moss, or reshape it and reattach to a board.
― 脇芽 ―
時々、株の調子が悪かったりすると、生長点のすぐ横から別の生長点が出てくることがあります(脇芽)。
この場合、両方そのままにしておくと、本体に悪影響を及ぼすので、状態を見てどちらかを切り取ってしまう方が良いでしょう。
-lateral buds-
When the plant is not in good condition, another growing point may appear right next to the growing point (lateral bud).
In this case, it is better to cut off the lateral bud to prevent from a negative effect on the main plant.
